If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids these holidays, why not try some good old-fashioned baking with these delicious scones you can make with the kids for morning tea. 😋 Pics are courtesy of our team member Kerri.
Here's a simple recipe for you to try:

3.5 Cups self-raising flour
1 cup lemonade
3/4 cup buttermilk

Method:
Preheat oven to 220°c and grease a 23cm square cake pan.
Place the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the lemonade and buttermilk, then stir until a sticky dough forms.

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead until just smooth. Press the dough out until about 3cm thick. Use a lightly floured 6cm round cutter to cut 16 scones from the dough. You can reshape the leftover dough if you need to. Put the scones side by side in the cake pan.

Bake for 20 mins or until light golden and scones sound hollow when tapped. Then, serve with jam and cream (or your favourite topping) and enjoy!

In celebration of Cheeseburger day tomorrow, we're bringing you some of our best ! Made fresh every day in our Rory's Canteens. Happy Cheeseburger day everyone! 🍔

When the serious business starts happening, it's pretty exciting! The big guns are here to cut out the concrete ready for the new walk in freezer to go in.

Here's a super simple recipe from one of our team members, a really easy 2 ingredient recipe for you to try out this week. All you need is Self Raising Flour & Greek Yoghurt to make these delicious looking flat breads. How simple is that?

Here's what you need and how to make them:

1 cup Greek Yoghurt + 1 cup SR Flour. Combine ingredients to make a dough and knead until smooth. Let the dough rest for 3-4 hours, then divide into about 8 small portions and roll each one out flat. Cook in a hot pan with a little butter until air pockets start forming and the bread starts to brown. Cook both sides.

This one is a real blast from the past ... one of our team saw this posted on a page of someones parents who are renovating their kitchen and found this canteen price list from 1986 in the back of one of the cupboards. Who remembers the bush biscuit smothered with butter, all in a brown paper bag? 😀

Now that the weather will start to warm up a little, here's a great and healthy idea to get the kids involved in the kitchen. We're great fans of cold rolls, because you can really use anything you have (or the kids like) to fill them, and it's a fun kitchen activity you can do together ... and the best part is no cooking required!

Here's the recipe:

Use up some left over BBQ chicken or roast pork (or even prawns if you have them).
Fresh coriander, mint, spring onion and carrot. If you're lucky enough to grow these in your veggie garden, get your kids to harvest what you have.
Chop mint, coriander and slice spring onion. Blanche some vermicelli noodles.
Dip rice paper in warm water and lay out, place filings on the rice paper, firmly wrap up and serve with favourite dipping sauces such as satay or sweet chilli.
